Skin Type: What They Needs?

Regardless what type of skin you have, every person needs:

  • To avoid prolonged sun exposure that will lead to burning.

  • To avoid smoking and drugs.

  • To eat a balanced and natural diet.

  • To get enough sleep and learn stress coping methods.

  • Drink plenty of water to keep the body hydrated.

  • A regular daily skin care regimen with a cleanser, toner and moisturizer.

  • When possible to have a professional facial or home facial for deep cleansing and skin rejuvenation.

Oily Skin Care
Most of the teenager going thru hormonal changes when at their puberty, oily skin (seborrhoeic skin) generally appears that involves only the upper part of the body, where greater number of the sebaceous glands are found. They produced high sebum and moisture contents, which oozed up to giving the skin a greasy shine, especially on the forehead and nose area.

As a result, pores become larger and more visible, the skin feels susceptible to greasiness, eruptions, and also more tendencies towards blackheads, pimple, whiteheads and acne. Special cleansing is needed for oily skin to help to keep the pores unclogged.

This types of skin is particularly common in adolescents and young adult. The flow of sebum will increases during adolescence and decreasing with age and at other time of life like pregnancy and menopause. Imbalances hormonal can increase the sebaceous gland activity and also upset the oil balance.

Sensitive Skin Care
Sensitive skin can be defined as an abnormal skin response to various factors which can be physical or chemical. This type of skin may be easily irritated by soaps, touch, or other substances in the environment. The response is far stronger than those of normal skin under the same circumstances.

It may become red and damaged easily, while appearing blotchy and irritated. Broken capillaries and vessels beneath the surface may be apparent. Great care must be taken to not over-stimulate sensitive skin and use mild and natural products specially designed for sensitive skin. Avoid harsh detergents and products with alcohol, dyes and perfumes.

Normal Skin
Normal skin type may be said neither greasy nor tight. It has a soft, velvety texture, a high degree of elasticity and supple to the touch and also no sensations of discomfort. It result from a balance of the normal skin functions including low sebum content, high moisture content and has regular texture.

However, normal skin can quite quickly become 'abnormal'. Those with normal skin are susceptible to changes due to environment and start showing their signs of age and wrinkling sooner than others, if they tend to neglect their skin. A simple daily cleansing with toning and nourishing is sufficient care for normal skin.

Dry skin
Great looking skin is a wonderful thing to have. Healthy and wonderful skin not only enhances your personality but also protects your body from outside world. Most of us are not born with perfect skin type and complexion, and the problem is worse when we find that our skin type is dry, since dry skin looks dull, damaged and tight, especially after washing with soap and water.

Characteristic of dry skin can be summarized as most of all by this sensation of tightness and irritable, with the skin feeling rough and scaly and also often develops fine lines around the eyes. The worst, skin lack of low sebum content and insufficient moisture content may susceptible to dryness that often look flaky, and skin texture liable to become flat.

Combination Skin
Combination skin (dry & oily skin) has a greasy area, while is tend to be dry or normal in some areas. This type of skin has contained of high sebum content but insufficient moisture content. T-zone term refers to forehead, nose and chin may be greasy but the checks, and area around the eyes is dry.

Although combination skin are very common but it's one of the most rapidly mistreated skin and misunderstood. However, both the dry and greasy areas need moisturizing but it's may requires separate treatment for each areas.
